Palace skateboards is a London-based skateboard and apparel brand founded in 2009, with a heavy emphasis on streetwear and catering to the current hype culture. Palace is planning on setting up a pop-up store in Harbour City shopping mall in Tsim Sa Tsui, Hong Kong; to showcase and sell their new winter 2019 collection.








The structure of the pop up store takes inspiration from the street markets of Hong Kong, with rolls of tents erected by different vendors - taking the literal form of a tent, both in its shape and its simple construction.



A canopy and roll of classical inspired mannequins signifies a single entrance into the store, limiting to one exist is done to promote movement around the structure as well as within the store. Stocks are designed to be stored in storage shelves, located on the back sides of the structure, these shelves are accessible via the exterior, and ultilises the cavity between the inner and outter wall.

BY TAKING ELEMENTS AND MATERIALS THAT MATCHES PALACE'S OTHER STORES IN OTHER LOCATIONS SUCH AS TOKYO, LOAS ANGELES, AND NEW YORK. THIS DESIGN CREATES A SPACE THAT NOT ONLY REFLECTS LOCAL CULTURE OF HONG KONG, BUT ALSO REFLECTS THE BRANDING OF PALACE.NEO-CLASSICAL AND CLASSICAL STATUES LIKE DAVID AND VENUS, INSPIRATION TAKEN FROM THE PALACE STORES, CREATES AN INTERESTING FOCAL POINT FROM THE FRONT, DRAWING CUSTOMERS. CLOTHING ITEMS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES CAN ALSO BE PLACED ONTO THESE STATUES.

DISPLAY CASES CREATED TO SHOWCASE AND HIGHLIGHT SPECIFIC CLOTHING ITEMS AND SKATEBOARDS OF THIS SEASON CREATES FOCAL POINTS IN THE SPACE. ETCHED WITH THE ITEM'S UNIQUE DESCRIPTION, THIS BRINGS MORE CHARECTERISTIC TO THE SPACE.
